Survivors

Filmmaking

For the final submission and graduate piece for the six-month video content creation course I was enrolled in, I wanted to write and direct something that was simple and affordable to produce, focusing mostly on story but placed the character and their journey centre stage.

Using the “resource filmmaking” model, I wrote the story of Survivors during the night while working by day and studying in the evening. I love the inherent mystery and subjectivity of reality that underpin the themes of some psychological thrillers and I knew that this was the genre I wanted to tackle.

It was made with three other part-time students in their capacities as cinematographer, producer and editor.
